OKU has signed an educational and academic exchange agreement with National Kaohsiung Normal University (Taiwan). Joined by its president Chia-nan Tai, the signing ceremony took place at our Kashiwara Campus on Tuesday, April 20.
National Kaohsiung Normal University is located in Kaohsiung City in Southern Taiwan, with two campuses, Heping, (in Lingya District, Kaohsiung City), and Yanchao (in Yanchao Township, Kaohsiung County). It has 5 schools consisting of Literature, Applied Science, Education, Arts and Science, with 18 departments. In addition, there are 30 graduate schools (including the doctorate degree), affiliated high school, junior high school and elementary school. The university is home to approximately 3,000 undergraduate and 1,200 graduate students, under 261 faculty members.
The university is central to Taiwan's teacher training, and an active inter-university exchange will be expected in the near future, including the participation in the International Consortium for Teacher Training in East Asia, and the implementation of a double-degree system.
