Our university received visitors from Seoul National University of Education, one of our partner schools for academic exchange. SNUE sent its undergraduate intern students and delegates from its Educational Administration and Mathematics programs, respectively in late January.
This was the first visit implemented this year by the SNUE’s global internship program that our university joined to collaborate. Seven sophomore and junior undergraduate intern students arrived at the Kashiwara Campus on Monday, January 17. After receiving an orientation from Professor Yuri Hasegawa and Associate Professor Masakazu Wako (both of International Center), they split up into three groups and received Japanese teaching practice at three elementary schools in Higashi Osaka City (Arakawa Elementary School, Chodo Elementary School, and Taiheiji Elementary School), for approximately 2 weeks from Tuesday, January 18 to Friday, January 28, while staying at the on-campus dormitory (Asahigaoka Hall).
On Wednesday, January 19, two professors and twelve graduate students majoring in Education Administration visited our affiliated school, Hirano Elementary School. They paid a visit to its principal Masaharu Sonoda, then, after observing the first and second class periods, they engaged in an active discussion and opinion exchange, facilitated by the vice principal Hiroshi Kajiwara. One of the graduate students, who has visited more than 30 foreign schools, expressed that this was the most memorable visit ever made.
Additionally, on Monday, January 24, four professors and sixteen graduate students of the SNUE Graduate School Mathematics Education visited our Kashiwara Campus. Beginning with Professor Hasegawa’s presentation outlining the university, they engaged in an active Q&A sessions regarding university management and mathematics education with Associate Professor Wako, Professor Masatoshi Fujii (Practical School Education), Professor Masako Tanemura (Practical School Education), Professor Katsuhiro Uno (Mathematical Science) and Instructor Yusuke Shinno (Mathematics Education).
Currently, a meaningful and practical exchange between our university and Seoul National University of Education is taking place in various fields.
