Exchange Agreement Signed with National Taiwan Normal University (Taiwan)
OKU has signed an educational and academic exchange agreement as well as a memorandum on student exchange. Joined by its president Chang Kuo-en, the signing ceremony took place at our Kashiwara Campus on Friday, May 21.
Taiwan National Normal University is located in Taipei, with 8 schools, consisting of Education, Literature, Applied Science, Arts, Science Technology, Sports and Recreation, International Studies, and Music, with 28 departments. In addition, there are 24 individual graduate schools. The university still uses the building of the Taiwan Provincial College which was established (in 1922) under the Japanese occupation. The former Taiwanese president Lee Teng-hui studied at this university, which has an atmosphere with affinity for Japan. Under 759 faculty members, approximately 7,300 undergraduate and 7,500 graduate students are enrolled.
The university is central to Taiwan's teacher training, and an active inter-university exchange will be expected in the near future, including the participation in the International Consortium for Teacher Training in East Asia, and the implementation of a double-degree system.
